About the Kuwait MOH exam

What is the Kuwait MOH exam?

It is the computer-based licensing exam required by the Medical Licensing Department of the Kuwait Ministry of Health for many healthcare professionals. Prometric delivers it at test centres worldwide; its official blueprint document is titled “Kuwait Licensing Exam”.

Which exams have an official blueprint?

Nine: General Practitioner, Internal Medicine, Registered Nurse, Ophthalmology, Critical Care, Anesthesia, Dermatology, Obstetrics & Gynecology and Lab Technician. Prometric notes that content, percentages and attempts are subject to change upon department review.

What is the exam format?

150 computer-based multiple-choice questions in 170 minutes plus a 10-minute break. The Anesthesia exam is 190 minutes plus a 10-minute break.

What are the pass marks?

60% for General Practitioner, Registered Nurse and Lab Technician. For Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Critical Care, Anesthesia, Dermatology and Obstetrics & Gynecology: 65% at Registrar level and 70% at Senior level.

How many attempts are allowed?

Three attempts at least six weeks apart; Ophthalmology allows two attempts.

Is KMLE the same as the Kuwait MOH exam?

Not exactly. 2026 news reports describe a new Kuwait Medical Licensing Examination (KMLE) and Kuwait Dental Licensing Examination (KDLE) for new graduates, run through KIMS from 1 January 2027. The current Prometric exam covers registrar and senior grades. Follow official MOH and KIMS announcements for details.

Eligibility & booking

How do I become eligible?

Licensing applications are handled by the MOH Medical Licensing Department through its online portal (medlic.moh.gov.kw), usually with your employer. Once you are eligible you schedule the exam with Prometric.

Where can I sit the exam?

At Prometric test centres worldwide. Prometric does not list Kuwait-specific centres on its MOH page, so choose an available centre when you schedule.

What ID do I need?

Prometric requires a valid government-issued ID with your name in English letters, a photo and a signature. The name must match your booking exactly.

How much is the exam fee?

Kuwait MOH and Prometric do not publish the fee online. It is shown when you schedule with Prometric and is separate from our question bank subscription.

Who do I contact about eligibility?

The MOH licensing department ([email protected], Sunday–Thursday 8:00–14:00). For scheduling, contact Prometric — the Middle East line is +353-42-682-5608.

Specialties & blueprints

My specialty is not one of the nine — is there an exam?

Kuwait MOH licenses many professions beyond the nine published blueprints, but Prometric has not published blueprints for them. Confirm your exam category with the Ministry of Health. Our pages for these specialties show a suggested study curriculum, clearly labelled as unofficial.

What does “Part of an official blueprint” mean?

Some specialties appear as a section of a published exam — for example Cardiology is a 16-question section of the Internal Medicine exam and Neonatology a 3-question part of the GP exam. That is not a separate licensing exam.

Are dentists and pharmacists covered?

Yes, we provide study guides and question banks for 12 dental and 3 pharmacy roles. Note that pharmacy licensing is handled by a separate MOH pharmacy department and no official Prometric blueprint is published for these roles.

Our question banks

Are the questions real exam questions?

No. Every question is original, written for education. We never use recalled or confidential live exam questions.

How are the questions weighted?

For the nine official exams, questions follow the published blueprint percentages. For other specialties, questions are spread across the suggested curriculum domains.

What does each question include?

A clinical or technical scenario, four options, the correct answer, a detailed explanation, why each wrong option is wrong, and the topic it belongs to.

Payment

How can I pay?

Securely online by card at checkout. Prices are in US dollars.

Can I buy more than one question bank?

Yes. Add several specialties on the Make Payment page and pay for them together.

Access & support

How quickly will I get access?

Access is activated as soon as your payment is confirmed, and your login details are sent to the email address you used at checkout.

I didn’t receive my access email. What should I do?

Check your spam or junk folder first. If it is not there, contact us at info@kmleexam.com with your order details and we will help you right away.

Can I share my account?
