Have these ready

Most booking problems come from a name mismatch or a declined card. Tick everything off first.

Step by step

The Kuwait MOH exam in 8 steps

Based on Prometric’s Kuwait MOH page and blueprint document. Where official information is missing, we say so.

Step 1 / 8

Confirm your exam category

What to do

  1. Check whether your specialty is one of the nine exams with an official Prometric blueprint (GP, Internal Medicine, Registered Nurse, Ophthalmology, Critical Care, Anesthesia, Dermatology, OB/GYN, Lab Technician).
  2. If it is not, confirm with the Kuwait Ministry of Health which exam or assessment applies to you.

Good to know

  • Our directory shows how all 79 specialties relate to the official exams.
  • Pharmacy licensing is handled by a separate MOH pharmacy department.
Step 2 / 8

Apply through the MOH licensing portal

What to do

  1. Licensing applications are handled by the MOH Medical Licensing Department through its online portal (medlic.moh.gov.kw).
  2. In practice the application is usually started by your employer or sponsoring facility in Kuwait.

Good to know

  • Prometric’s Kuwait MOH page links to the MOH portal and to moh.gov.kw.
  • MOH licensing contact: [email protected] (Sunday–Thursday, 8:00–14:00).
Step 3 / 8

Prepare and verify your credentials

What to do

  1. Gather your degree, transcripts, internship certificate, professional licences, experience letters and good-standing certificate.
  2. Follow the verification instructions you receive from MOH or your employer.

Good to know

  • Several consultancies report that DataFlow primary source verification is used for Kuwait MOH, but we could not confirm this on an official MOH page — follow your official instructions.
  • Use exactly the same spelling of your name on every document.
Step 4 / 8

Receive your exam eligibility

What to do

  1. When MOH approves your file you are made eligible to sit the exam.
  2. Note any registration window or deadline that comes with your eligibility.

Good to know

  • Exam grade matters: Prometric groups exams as “Seniors” (consultant, senior specialist, specialist, senior registrar) and “Register” (registrar).
  • Specialist pass marks are 65% for Registrar and 70% for Senior.
Step 5 / 8

Schedule your exam with Prometric

What to do

  1. Go to Prometric’s Kuwait MOH page (prometric.com/exams/mohkw) and follow “schedule your exam at a Prometric Testing Center”.
  2. Create a Prometric account if needed, then choose your exam, a test centre and a date.
  3. Pay the exam fee shown at scheduling and save your confirmation number.

Good to know

  • Exams are delivered at Prometric test centres worldwide.
  • Fees are not published online — they are shown when you schedule.
Step 6 / 8

Check your ID and booking name

What to do

  1. Make sure the name on your booking exactly matches your ID.
  2. Bring a valid government-issued ID with your name in English letters, photo and signature (a passport is the safest choice).

Good to know

  • A name mismatch can mean you are refused entry.
  • Prometric’s general policy: rescheduling and cancellation deadlines and fees vary by exam sponsor — check your confirmation email.
Step 7 / 8

Sit the exam

What to do

  1. Arrive early for check-in (ID check, photo and security screening).
  2. Answer 150 multiple-choice questions in 170 minutes, with a 10-minute break (Anesthesia: 190 minutes).

Good to know

  • Personal items are stored outside the testing room.
  • Pace yourself at about 68 seconds per question.
Step 8 / 8

Results and further attempts

What to do

  1. Check how your result will be communicated in your booking and MOH instructions.
  2. If you do not pass, you may retake after at least six weeks.

Good to know

  • Three attempts are allowed for most exams; Ophthalmology allows two.
  • Result timing and how long a pass remains valid are not published officially — ask MOH.
